No Oil of Welcome/Generosity

The Woman

Wet/Wipe Feet with Her Tears/Hair
Humble, Submissive, Grateful Kissing of Feet
Valuable Oil “Wasted” as Perfume for Jesus’ Feet

Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”

The Pharisee stood up and prayed about ["to"?] himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.

He Was Definitely ”Standin’ in the Need of Prayer” … too bad he prayed “to” himself.

Born A Jew of Cilician Tarsus, Brought Up in Jerusalem
Thoroughly Trained Under Gamaliel in Forefathers’ Laws
Equally Zealous for God as the Mob Members Attacking Him

Then Paul said: “I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. Under Gamaliel I was thoroughly trained in the law of our fathers and was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. NIV

God opened a well-trained but narrow-positioned mind when He temporarily closed Paul’s eyes.
