Calloused Hearts (Hard-ly Hearted)
Almost Deaf Ears (Hardly Hearing)
Closed Eyes (Hardly Seeing)

‘For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ (cf. Isaiah 6:9-10)

Seeing + Hearing + Understanding = Turning + Healing

Get Up — he got up
Take Your Mat — he took his mat
Walk (Go Home) — he walked out for all to see

Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? [...] “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all.

Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth.

Sent to Proclaim Freedom (hope for prisoners of sin and physical limitation)
Sent to Release the Oppressed (hope for victims of societal sin)
Sent to Proclaim God’s Favor (hope for the self-condemned)

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Isaiah 6:1-2)
